On June 17th, 2023, the closing ceremony of the course “Leading with Essential Influence”, of the "Becoming a Great Leader" series, —— "GO BEYOND TALK" hosted by Become Consulting was successfully held at Novartis Shanghai Campus.
This course has attracted executives and business leaders of many well-know multinational companies, as well as CEOs of innovative companies. Guided by senior executive coaches Jane and Ocean, students has been immersed in in-depth discussions and exchanges on topics such as the relationship between leaders’ decision styles and influence, how to deliver a powerful message, and become a charismatic speaker, etc.

GO BEYOND TALK
After 1V1 guidance from coaches, students bravely stepped onto the stage to share their experiences and stories, introduce products and services that they are proud of, and convey ideas and inspirations that deserve more people to know.
About the “Smile Action” to help children with cleft lip and palate, the danger of ionizing radiation and the importance of wearing lead clothing, research on consumer industry empowered by big data, etc., the topic of the speeches covered various fields and dimensions, and brought the students and other audiences new knowledge and perspectives to understand the world.
The students also flexibly used many practical skills taught in the “Leading with Essential Influence” course, using storytelling and appeal to establish links with the, showing great flexibility when interacting to create a "sense of presence", and answering “challenging questions" confidently and calmly.

We are very honored to invite David Guo, chief consultant of EDL Consulting, Cindy Zhao, co-founder of FutureWorks Capital Partners, Yvonne Wu, head of human resources at Lilly Asia Fund, as well as Alex Wu and Stella Shi, excellent graduates of the first cohort to give comments and advices for speakers.
The guests gave generous praise to the great parts of each speech, but also objectively put forward sharp and constructive suggestions. This has also been a process of mutual learning. While the special guests gained new perspectives, they provided ideas for the content or form of the speeches.
About “Leading with Essential Influence”
At the end of 2022, Become Consulting and Wharton Executive Education jointly launched the “Leading with Essential Influence” course in China, which covers a six-week online learning program, lectured by two professors from Wharton Executive Education; as well as three one-day offline session led by two senior executive coaches, Jane and Ocean, targeting the integration of the core points of online learning with real work challenges.
